My main beef with this show is that I usually prefer my shounen show heroes to start out as nothing and then become really, really good. It's fun to see our little boy win but there's no motive. Only later on does he find some sort of goal but it's still not enough for me. |

| Welcome to the NHK (TV) | Very good | It takes every single stereotype of otaku culture and pushes it to the extreme where you don't even know if should be laughing or not. But below all the wacky adventures that our anti-heroes go through, there is an undercurrent of pain that cannot be ignored. And ultimately, that's what makes this show stick. |
