Konami Reveals Zayn Malik as Shadow Duelist in Latest Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Tournament
Malik joins the Yu-Gi-Oh! Shadow Duelist tournament final; gifts winner autographed prize.
LOS ANGELES – August 29, 2024 – Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. (KONAMI) is excited to reveal today, Zayn Mailk, English performer and songwriter, as the inaugural Shadow Duelist in the latest tournament for Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL. The multi-platinum selling recording artist, singer, and songwriter was unmasked as the Shadow Duelist live on stream on the final day of the Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL tournament.
For days, Malik hid behind the persona of Nocturne, an obscure figure sporting a horned mask, and teased fans about his true identity via cryptic messages on social media. Duelists faced off in fierce battles during the first round of the Shadow Duelist tournament on Aug. 28, culminating in the livestream of the finals earlier today.
The champion Duelist was gifted Nocturne's unique mask adorned with Malik's autograph. Malik, an avid fan of Yu-Gi-Oh!, joined our tournament hosts to talk about his passion for Yu-Gi-Oh!
The action put on display during the Shadow Duelist tournament is only the beginning of an exciting season of Duels that lay ahead. The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship will take place in Seattle, WA, where the top Duelists from across the globe will compete to be crowned the King of Games on Sept. 7-8 in four categories:
