Robotech: The Macross Saga Roleplaying Game Now Available for Pre-Order

Towson, MD -- Strange Machine Games is proud to announce that preorders have opened for the brand new, officially licensed Robotech: The Macross Saga Roleplaying Game. Written by Jeff Mechlinski and Bryan Young, the book is an all-new game that builds on almost forty years of the Robotech legend. Pre-sales are available for the standard version of the book as well as two exclusives, one with an alternate art cover and the other in a leather-bound format.

Robotech is a classic science-fiction anime epic that tells the tale of humans defending their homeworld against alien invasion. The story centers around the humans who come together to fight against the war-like Zentraedi in transformable jet fighters known as Veritechs. Robotech first came to the United States from Japan in 1985 as a result of the partnership between Harmony Gold USA and the Tatsunoko Production company. The 85-episode series began playing on American television screens and became a sensation. Today, it's available to watch on every major streaming service and remains as popular as ever.

“Growing up, Robotech was incredibly important to me. I was so wrapped up in the lives of the characters, you would have guessed they were real,” said Bryan Young, who wrote the fiction portions of the game. “As a lifelong Robotech fan and an avid roleplayer, it was like a dream come true when I was asked to join the team to help bring this epic space saga to life in a new medium for a new generation.”

Jeff Mechlinski, the game's designer, explained “This game was made from the ground up to give players the feeling that they're in Robotech. It's tailored to replicate that cinematic feeling of the show and enable you to do anything you've seen in the cartoon and more. All while staying true to what makes Robotech such an enduring franchise. But more than that, we wanted to create a book that would speak to all Robotech fans, regardless of whether or not they were interested in roleplaying games. There are new illustrations on virtually every page and it's packed with the sort of lore and information any fan is going to want as a resource to bolster their knowledge of the universe.”

Robotech: The Macross Saga Roleplaying Game is 260-pages in full color. Along with a brand new rule system comes a 50-page scenario section that offers insight and history into the entire Macross Saga. It also features art on every page and two brand new short stories written by Bryan Young set in the Robotech universe. The rules, outside of scenarios and situations involving legacy characters, are also written in gender neutral terms, making it welcoming to all. The unique gaming systems allows gamers to play alongside their favorite heroes and villains, or even play as them. It also allows play at any scale, from the Robotech's signature personal to Robotech to the dogfights and naval engagements that have captivated fans for decades.

Founded in 2011 by Jeff Mechlinski and Darius Hambleton, Strange Machine Games aims to make the most dynamic and interesting board and roleplaying game products on the market.

Robotech: The Macross Saga Roleplaying Game has a suggested retail price of $60 and can be pre-ordered now at StrangeMachineGames.Com. The book is expected to be released in mid-December and will be available in game and hobby shops across North America.
