Anime California was started in 2013 by Jeff Suddarth, who hails originally from California. After a brief stint in the Midwest, he discovered anime conventions and started staffing them as a Division Head of some 3,000+ person conventions. With the support of a bunch of friends, he has brought together a rag-tag crew of lovable renegades to run a new convention in California. The convention is meant to bring a new focus on fun events, attendee feedback, and building a great community to the anime world of the west coast.
Anime California has thousands of fans coming together for its inaugural year, to celebrate both anime and video games. Events include concerts, anime screenings, a cosplay contest, formal dances, and tons of panels with guests and fans. Some of the events are listed at http://animecalifornia.com/events
Todd Haberkorn joins the guest list that includes Chris Patton, Kira Buckland, Cherami Leigh, and Lolita Dark. The full bios of each can be found at http://animecalifornia.com/guests
