Upcoming TV Series “Space Dandy” to be Broadcast Simultaneously Worldwide
Tokyo, Japan, October 25, 2013 – Bandai Visual Co., Ltd., a leader in the development and production of Japanese animation, announced the simultaneous TV broadcast of “Space Dandy” in Japan, North America and Asia, starting January 2014! This marks the first time that a Japanese TV anime series will be televised simultaneously in numerous countries.
[North America]
English production will be handled by FUNimation Entertainment, a Group 1200 Media Company,
in association with the Space Dandy Production Committee in Japan, and the series will be aired on
Adult Swim in North America in English. FUNimation has acquired the home entertainment,
digital, theatrical, and merchandise rights to the series.
[Asia]
The series will be aired on Animax Asia in various
countries in Asia except for Japan and Korea. The
countries which Animax Asia's service covers will be
announced soon. ODEX is the Asian licensee of the series.
ODEX and Animax Asia also announced the appearance of
two voice cast from “Space Dandy” at AFA Singapore,
which will be held from November 8th to 10th at Suntec
International Convention & Exhibition Centre. Junichi
Suwabe (voice of Dandy) and Yurin (voice of Honey) will
hold a stage event as well as autograph sessions at the
AFA booths of ODEX and Animax Asia.
[Oceania]
It was also announced that Madman Entertainment acquired the license of “Space Dandy” for
Australia and New Zealand, and the series will premiere simultaneously online in these countries
as it airs on Japanese TV. TV broadcast plans in Oceania are currently under negotiation.
Bandai Visual is currently in discussion with companies in Europe and Korea. Announcements for
these countries will be made soon.

“Space Dandy” Synopsis
Space Dandy is a dandy in space! This dreamy adventurer with a to-die-for pompadour travels
across the galaxy in search of aliens no one has ever laid eyes on. Each new species he discovers
earns him a hefty reward, but this dandy has to be quick on his feet because it's first come – first
