Genericon XXIV To Be Held February 11 through 13, 2011
TROY, NY (September 26, 2010) – Today, Genericon, the annual student-run science fiction, anime, and gaming convention held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), announced that the next iteration of the event will occur on the weekend of February 11-13, 2011. The convention theme for 2011 will be steampunk.
This year marks the 24th Genericon since its genesis in 1985, a significant record in terms of student-run college conventions.
ABOUT GENERICON: Genericon is an annual, student-run convention of sci-fi, anime, and gaming. For over two decades, it has been run by student staff and volunteers at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute campus in Troy, New York. The convention features a 24-hour video game room, anime and sci-fi screenings, role playing games, a cosplay contest, vendors, artists' alley, panels by special guests and fans, a concert, gaming tournaments and more.
