Crunchyroll Announces Simulcast Acquisition of Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru with Kadokawa Pictures
Hotaru Odagiri's Fantasy Adventure to Stream Through World's Leading Asian Media Lifestyle Brand Same Day as Airing in Japan
San Francisco, Calif. (April 6, 2010) – Crunchyroll, Inc., announced today the simulcast acquisition of Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru, the long-awaited anime adaptation of Hotaru Odagiri's fantasy adventure manga published by Kadokawa Shoten in Monthly Asuka and animated by J.C. Staff. Title will become available each week via Crunchyroll's premium subscription in 480P enhanced definition the same day as first airing in Japan and for free in standard definition with advertisements one week later. Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru follows the story of Yuki Sakurai, voiced by Japanese voiceover star Souichiro Hoshi, as an independently-minded young man who grew up at the Asahi Orphanage. Now a high school freshmen coming into his own, his powers start to manifest. One day, while suddenly under attack, a tall, dark and handsome man comes to his rescue. Seeming familiar to him, Yuki wonders who is he and why he has a sense of déjà vu. Were they somehow connected in a past life? And what are these powers and why are they happening?
