.hack//ROOTS Premiere on Cartoon Network
.hack//Roots, NEXT INSTALLMENT IN THE HIT FRANCHISE, TO PREMIERE ON CARTOON NETWORK
November 6, 2006 (Cypress, Ca) – Bandai Entertainment, INC. announced today that its anime series .hack//Roots will debut on Cartoon Network on November 10, at 5 a.m. (ET, PT).
“.hack//Roots continues from .hack//SIGN with an even more complex story and animation, we’re pleased to be working with Cartoon Network to bring to the United States,†said Mr. Ken Iyadomi, President of Bandai Entertainment, INC.
The story of .hack//Roots takes place one year after the world’s most popular game, referred to as ‘The World’ was destroyed when all the datacenters containing the game’s information were destroyed within a mysterious fire. Taking elements from what was to be a different game, ‘the World’ is reborn as ‘The World R:2.’ However as millions of players, both new and old flood the servers, they soon discover that this new version isn’t as forgiving as its previous incarnation. Being one of these new players, Haseo finds himself not only the target of countless Player Killers, but of two rivaling guilds, who hope to use him in pursuit of their own agendas.
“The anime series on Cartoon Network serves as a prequel to .hack//G.U., the new game series from Namco-Bandai,†Mr. Iyadomi added, “…so this is going to be a multimedia property that should really excite fans of the .hack universe.â€
