Tokyopop Get New Director of UK Sales
TOKYOPOP INC. TAPS FORMER CHRYSALIS DIRECTOR DENNIS McGUIRK TO HELM ITS U.K. RETAIL SALES
Los Angeles, CA (January 7, 2004)--On the heels of a year filled with unprecedented success in North America, leading U.S. manga publisher TokyoPop Inc. has named Dennis McGuirk its Retail Sales Director, U.K. In this newly created position, McGuirk will support the company's expansion plans throughout the United Kingdom. He will report directly to TOKYOPOP's VP, Sales & Distribution, Steve Kleckner.
With a proven track record in increasing profitability, developing strong teams and motivating personnel, McGuirk brings a wealth of publishing industry sales experience to his TOKYOPOP post. He was most recently Director of Sales & Marketing for Chrysalis Children's Books. In this role, McGuirk was not only responsible for sales worldwide, but also for appointing key partners and effectively reshaping the division. His efforts helped the company achieve set goals and ultimately gave Chrysalis a much stronger position in the trade. McGuirk's experience also includes roles at Top That! Publishing, Penguin/Ladybird Books, WN Sharpe Ltd. and Federal Express.
