Anime Limited Announces Release of Ex-Arm Collector's Blu-ray on May 19

Home edition will also be released in the US, including art cards and a poster

Anime Limited has announced that it will release a Collector's Blu-ray edition of the television anime of Shinya Komi and HiRock's EX-ARM manga on May 19. It will include four art cards and an A3 poster.

Anime Limited also announced this edition will be available in the US.

Some responses to the X/Twitter announcement asked if this announcement is an April's Fool. However, Anime Limited denied this. The announcement was made after 5 pm UK time, well after the 12 noon cut-off time of April Fools Day, and the title has a standard order page on the AllTheAnime website.

The series is described by Anime Limited as "the critically discussed series" in its X/Twitter message.

The manga's crime battle story centers on high school student Akira Natsume. Only his brain is saved when he is involved in a traffic accident, and it later becomes part of an advanced weapon. Akira cooperates with the police's EX-ARM countermeasure division in order to regain his lost memories and body.

Yoshikatsu Kimura, who worked on the live-action 20th Century Boys and Ajin films, directed the anime at the studio Visual Flight. Tommy Morton oversaw the series scripts, and Sō Kimura composed the music. Osaka "pop punk band" AIRFLIP performed the theme song "Rise Again." The band Dizzy Sunfist performed the show's ending theme song "Diamonds Shine."

Komi launched the manga with HiRock's story in Shueisha's Grand Jump magazine in February 2015 as a remake of his earlier EX-VITA manga. The series moved to the Shonen Jump+ website and app in December 2017 and ended in June 2019.
