Sword Art Online: Alicization Premieres on Toonami on February 9

The official United States Twitter account for Sword Art Online announced on Thursday that the Sword Art Online: Alicization anime will premiere on Adult Swim's Toonami block on February 9. The one-hour premiere will air at 12:30 a.m. EST, taking the place of Mob Psycho 100 and Megalobox.
The Toonami lineup on February 9 will be:
- 11:00 p.m. – Dragon Ball Super
- 11:30 p.m. – Boruto
- 12:00 a.m. – My Hero Academia
- 12:30 a.m. – Sword Art Online: Alicization
- 1:00 a.m. – Sword Art Online: Alicization
- 1:30 a.m. – JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable
- 2:00 a.m. – Black Clover
- 2:30 a.m. – Hunter x Hunter
- 3:00 a.m. – Naruto Shippūden
- 3:30 a.m. – Attack on Titan
- 4:00 a.m. – Pop Team Epic
- 4:30 a.m. – Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans
Sword Art Online: Alicization premiered in Japan on October 6 and is streaming on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and FunimationNow. The series is adapting the entire "Alicization Arc" of Reki Kawahara's original novels and will air for four cours, or four quarters of a year.
Manabu Ono (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Saki, The Asterisk War) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures. Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale animation directors Gō Suzuki and Tomoya Nishiguchi are joining Shingo Adachi for the character designs. Yuki Kajiura is returning to compose the music.
