EX-ARM Science-Fiction Manga Gets TV Anime
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The 12th compiled book volume of Shinya Komi and HiRock's EX-ARM manga revealed on Wednesday that the series is getting a television anime adaptation and planning is moving forward. The novel adaptation EX-ARM the Novel Deus Ex Machina and the February 2019 issue of Shueisha's Grand Jump magazine, which both shipped on Wednesday, also revealed the anime.
The manga's crime battle story centers on high school student Akira Natsume. Only his brain is saved when he is involved in a traffic accident, and it later becomes part of an advanced weapon. Akira cooperates with the police's EX-ARM countermeasure division in order to regain his lost memories and body.
Komi launched the manga with HiRock's story in Grand Jump in February 2015 as a remake of his earlier EX-VITA manga. The series moved to the Shonen Jump+ website and app in December 2017.
Atarō Kumo (novels of Hinomaru Sumo, live-action Teiichi no Kuni film) wrote EX-ARM the Novel Deus Ex Machina, which is the manga's first novel adaptation. The story is set in Shin Kagurazaka, a town that avoided a terrorist plot at the Tokyo Olympics. The story follows the EX-ARM countermeasure division's Arma and Minami as they seek to resolve a certain incident.
