This year's 41st issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine revealed on Monday that Jasmine Gyuh's Back Street Girls comedy manga will end in the magazine's 42nd issue on September 15 (the 42nd issue ships on a Saturday as Monday, September 17 is a holiday in Japan).
The manga was on hiatus from the 16th issue through the 28th issue, and resumed in the 29th issue in June.
The manga launched in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine in March 2015. Kodansha published the manga's 11th compiled volume on June 6. The manga has more than 450,000 copies in print.
Kodansha Comics began publishing the manga digitally in English on August 14, and it describes the series:
Tough gangland retribution takes a disturbingly bright, shiny turn in this insanely guilty pleasure about 3 yakuzas who, as repayment for their failures, must undergo major surgery and become … a hot female idol trio! So what happens when they become the next big pop sensation!?
The manga inspired an ongoing television anime adaptation that premiered in Japan on July 3.
