In a video message presented at the Noitamina Project Unveiling event on Thursday, anime director Masaaki Yuasa revealed that in addition to the recently announced Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome film (seen right), he has another project slated for next spring. He added that more details will follow.
Yuasa's numerous works as a director include Ping Pong, Kick-Heart, The Tatami Galaxy, and Kaiba. He also directed the "Food Chain" episode of the American animated series Adventure Time, which competed at the 39th Annecy International Animation Film Festival last year.
The director's studio Science SARU is animating the adaptation of The Tatami Galaxy and The Eccentric Family author Tomihiko Morimi's novel Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome (The Night is Short, So Walk, Girl). The main staff of The Tatami Galaxy anime is returning for the film, and Gen Hoshino (Saint Young Men's Buddha) will voice the main character "Sempai." The film will open in theaters in Japan on April 7.
