The official website for the live-action television adaptation of Makoto Mizuta's Bouncer manga announced the main cast and staff on Tuesday. The 10-episode series will incorporate original story elements and premiere on BS SKY PerfecTV! on April 14.
The series stars:
Kinari Hirano (Prince of Tennis musicals' Akira) as protagonist Jōichirō Shishido
Supernova Korean band member Yoonhak Jung as a Tokyo Fist team leader Shinya Hachino
Naoto Kumazawa (Kimi ni Todoke, Kin Kyori Renai) is directing the series at Studio Blue, and Yukiko Manabe (Wolf Girl & Black Prince, Wild Life) is writing the scripts.
The original manga centers on Jōichirō Shishido, a 19-year-old man whose frank honesty has cost him 26 part time jobs. One night, he runs into a group of muscular bodyguards who protect the streets at night, members of a private security firm known as "Tokyo Fist," which ends up changing his life.
Mizuta launched the manga in the inaugural issue of Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Young Champion magazine in September 2014. Akita Shoten published the third compiled book volume on July 20.
