Akiba's Beat Slated on December 15 for PS4, Undated for Vita in Japan
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the Akiba's Beat role-playing game announced on Wednesday that the game will debut on the PlayStation 4 on December 15. However, the website also announced that the PS Vita version's scheduled Winter 2016 release has been changed. The PS Vita version no longer has a release date window, and staff apologized for the trouble this change has caused. The website and the game's official Twitter account will announce the release schedule when it is finalized.
Acquire had previously delayed the game from its original fall release to December for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan. XSEED Games had also planned to release the game in N. America in the first quarter of 2017 on the same systems, after a delay from its original winter release schedule.
Kōta Takano is directing the game. ClariS is performing the game's theme song "again."
First print editions in Japan will come with production materials, a soundtrack CD with all seven characters songs, and a download code for white idol outfits for all seven main characters.
The game is a successor to the Akiba's Trip series of games, but is the first "action RPG" in the series.
