Sket Dance's Kenta Shinohara Launches Astra Lost in Space Manga

This year's 23rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced on Monday that Kenta Shinohara (Sket Dance) is launching a new "space adventure" manga series titled Kanata no Astra (Astra Lost in Space) in Shueisha's Shōnen Jump Plus app on the same day. The second chapter will debut on May 14, and future chapters thereafter will debut on Saturdays.
The magazine teases the story:
Planet Camp, where you can go out and play in space! But on that planet, there is...?
According the Shonen Jump, the manga is the first to launch simultaneously with its own voice drama.
The voice drama has the following cast:
- Yūsuke Kobayashi as Kanata Hoshijima
- Ayaka Suwa as Aries Spring
- Souichiro Hoshi as Charles Lacroix
- Daiki Hamano as Zack Walker
- Lynn as Kitley Refaeli
- Ayumu Murase as Luca Esposito
- Aimi Tanaka as Funisia Refaeli
- Kyousuke Kitayama as Woolger Zweig
- Mizuki Hagino as Patroid
Shinohara launched the Sket Dance manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in 2007, and ended it in 2013. Shueisha published 32 compiled book volumes for the series. Crunchyroll streamed the anime adaptation of the manga as it aired in Japan in 2011.
