Hero TV Previews Anime Premiering from July to September

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Philippine television channel HERO TV began airing a television commercial on Sunday revealing the channel's upcoming anime from July to September. The announced series include: Akame ga KILL!, Code Geass: Akito the Exiled #3, Towa no Quon Part 6, and Inazuma Eleven.

The Akame ga KILL! anime adapts the manga series written by Takahiro with art by Tetsuya Tashiro. The dark action fantasy manga follows the title character Akame, a girl who was bought and raised by the Empire as an assassin. After meeting Akame, a boy named Tatsumi vows to stand up to the evil of the corrupt Empire with the secret assassin group Night Raid and special weapons known as Teigu.

The Code Geass: Akito the Exiled OVAs are a spinoff of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion TV anime series. Set in between the two seasons of the original series, during the Britannian invasion of Europe, the OVA series centers around Akito Hyuga, a member of the "W-0" unit, a suicide outfit of exiled Japanese (Elevens) sent to the battlefield to perform dangerous missions against Britannia, with only a 5% survival rate.

The Towa no Quon film series is set in a futuristic Tokyo, where humans who have awakened distinct powers are being hunted by a secret organization named Kestos. Denominated as Attracters, these exceptional individuals are joining forces to defend themselves. They are led by an idealist named Quon who is determined to save all Attracters he can. The six 50-minute films were originally theatrically released in Japan in 2011. HERO TV premiered the sixth and final film on Sunday.

The Inazuma Eleven soccer anime franchise is based on Level 5's game series of the same name. The original 127-episode anime series aired between 2008-2011, and has since inspired the Inazuma Eleven GO, Inazuma Eleven GO 2: Chrono Stone, and Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy sequel series, and four films. The series previously aired on local channel ABS-CBN, as well as Cartoon Network, and will premiere on HERO TV on Friday.
