Crunchyroll to Stream Gainax's Magica Wars Anime Shorts

4-minute episodes feature magical girl personifications of Japanese prefectures
Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it will stream the Magica Wars (Mahō Shōjo Taisen, or literally "Magical Girl Wars") anime as it airs. The episodes will premiere for members on Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m. EDT, and will be available for free the following week. The stream will be available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Netherlands, and Turkey!.
The series will consist of 26 four-minute episodes.
Magica Wars is a cross-media project that personifies the 47 prefectures of Japan. The voice cast members for the prefectures were born in the prefecture each represent:
- Miho Arakawa as Naruko Aoba (Miyagi Prefecture)
- Kouichi Yamadera as Takesuzume (lit. Bamboo Sparrow, Miyagi)
- Ryoko Shintani as Yuri Inuwashi (Ishikawa)
- Ryōta Takeuchi as Shishiku (Ishikawa)
- Rie Murakawa as Rin Kobari (Tokyo)
- Satomi Arai as Mosuke (Tokyo)
- Yoshino Nanjō as Matsuri Azama (Shizuoka)
- Mitsuo Iwata as Toro (Shizuoka)
- Mikako Komatsu as Suzuka Kamiki (Mie)
- Shigeru Chiba as Ebizō (Mie)
- Kotori Koiwai as Mebuki Konoe (Kyoto)
- Arisa Nishiguchi as Oage-san (Kyoto)
- Yuka Terasaki as Renka Ariake (Kumamoto)
- Kappei Yamaguchi as Esora (Kumamoto)
