Gaikai Cloud Service Slated for PS4, PS3 in 2014

Sony Computer Entertainment confirmed that the cloud-based streaming system Gaikai will begin offering PlayStation 3 titles for the PlayStation 4 console next year. The services will be available in the United States next year, and it is also compatible with the PlayStation 3 system. Gaikai will launch on the PlayStation Vita after debuting on PS3 and PS4. The PlayStation 4 is not inherently backwards compatible, but cloud-based gaming will allow users to stream previous generation titles.

Sony purchased Gaikai last year for US$380 million.
