Trailer: Gurren Lagann on Blu-ray and DVD Spring 2014

Anime Limited has posted a new two-minute trailer on youtube, advertising its forthcoming release of Gainax's Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann robot anime series on both DVD and Blu-ray. (The trailer uses the dubbed soundtrack). According to the trailer, both formats are due in Spring 2014.

Anime Limited previously said that the Blu-ray edition would be in two parts, while the DVD would be one complete collection.

Anime Limited has also said that the Blu-ray edition would include both spinoff Gurren Lagann feature films and the 'parallel works' OAVs. The features are Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End-, (compiled from the TV series with some new footage) and Gurren Lagann the Movie – The Lights in the Sky Are Stars (a sequel to the series). The OAVs are Gurren Lagann Parallel Works and Gurren Lagann Parallel Works 2. They consist of spinoff shorts that explored the theme of "multiple universes," with background music from the television series.

Asked whether the films and OAVs would be included on the DVD edition as well as the Blu-ray, Anime Limited said, "We're still in the planning/locking things down but it looks like we might do. We'll definitely announce soon what is going where and what your options are."
