This year's 17th issue of Futabasha's Manga Action magazine, which shipped this Tuesday in Japan, announced the main cast for the upcoming anime adaptation of Masahide Ichijō and Chiku's four-panel manga The Hired Gun (Koroshiya-san).
The cast is as follows:
-
Takahiro Sakurai (Code Geass' Suzaku) as Kuroshiya-san
-
Aki Kanada (Hetalia's Chibitalia) as Apprentice
-
Saki Fujita (Attack on Titan's Ymir) as Father's Rival Woman
-
Tōru Ohkawa (Soul Eater's Death Scythe) as Police Sergeant
- Keiji Fujiwara (Attack on Titan's Hannes) as Gorō
The magazine also announced that the series of anime shorts will air on TV Saitama. The official website revealed that Visual Kei rock band Mix Speaker's,Inc. (Daily Lives of High School Boys) will perform the show's theme song, "the end."
The comedy story follows the title character, who is regarded by himself and others as the best hit man in Japan. He goes by the motto, "If I have an assignment, I will kill anything." However, his "killing" assignments have expanded to include everything from summer vacation homework to housekeeping. "The hit man never fails to kill the target. Though he does not aim to, he also never misses the laughter."
Ai Ikegaya, the director and producer of the Beelzebub anime's spinoff video short project Hashire! Beru-bō Keiji!, is directing the anime shorts at the Flash animation studio OperaHouse. The manga launched in Manga Action magazine in 2004, and Futabasha published the fourth volume in 2009. That same year, the manga inspired a drama CD.
