Sakura-Con to Host Animator/Designer Toshihiro Kawamoto

The official website for Seattle's Sakura-Con convention has announced that animator and designer Toshihiro Kawamoto will appear at the March 29-31 convention.
A co-founder of the BONES animation studio, Kawamoto is best known as the animation director and character designer for Cowboy Bebop and Wolf's Rain. His other designer credits include Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory and Golden Boy. He also served as a key animation director for Sword of the Stranger, Escaflowne: The Movie, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Eureka Seven. His career as an animator includes titles such as the first Mobile Suit Gundam series in 1979, Nadia - Secret of Blue Water, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Kawamoto also recently served as the chief animation director for Heroman, the superhero anime series from BONES and American comic pioneer Stan Lee. He then designed the characters and oversaw the animation for BONES' six-part film series Towa no Quon in 2011, and served as animation director for the 10th Space Battleship Yamato 2199 installment. Kawamoto previously attended the AM2 convention last year.

Sakura-Con will be held at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle. The convention will also host Psycho-Pass executive director Katsuyuki Motohiro and director Naoyoshi Shiotani, Sword Art Online creator Reki Kawahara and musical guests Eir Aoi and Luna Haruna.
