Live-Action 'Akira' Director Collet-Serra in Talks for 'Non-Stop'
posted on by Egan Loo
The Collider film news website reported on Wednesday that director Jaume Collet-Serra is in talks to helm Dark Castle Productions' Non-Stop film with actor Liam Neeson. Collet-Serra is the Catalonian director most recently attached to the live-action Akira film at Warner Brothers with producer Leonardo DiCaprio.
The New York magazine's Vulture blog reported in February that Akira in its current state was considered by Warner Brothers to be too costly; as a result, the studios' current plan is to have Collet-Serra direct another film called Harker first, and then return to the live-action Akira project with a lower budget. Vulture added last month that Collet-Serra is in talks for another film, Here There Be Monsters film from Legendary Pictures.
