posted on by Ko Ransom
An anime adaptation of Haruka Kawachi's Natsuyuki Rendezvous manga will be announced on Friday at a press conference held to promote Fuji TV's anime-centric Noitamina time slot. The series will begin airing during the late-night slot in July, running alongside the previously announced new season of Moyashimon, Moyashimon Returns.
The series will be directed by Kou Matsuo (Kurenai, Red Garden), and Junichirō Taniguchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san) will be its character designer and chief animation director. Dogakobo will be animating the series.
Kawachi's Natsuyuki Rendezvous manga ran in Shodensha's josei manga magazine Feel Young from its July 2009 issue to its January 2012 issue. The romantic drama collected in four volumes tells the story of a love triangle between Hazuki, a young man who works part time at a flower store, Rokka, the widow who owns the store, and the ghost of Shimao, Rokka's deceased husband. Hazuki will be voiced by Yūichi Nakamura, Rokka will be played by Sayaka Ōhara, and Shimao will be played by Jun Fukuyama.
