Kuroko no Basuke Sports TV Anime's 1st Promo Streamed
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the Kuroko no Basuke television anime series began streaming a 102-second promotional video on Tuesday. The video introduces the story that Tadatoshi Fujimaki originally created for his basketball manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
In the story, Taiga Kagami (played by Yūki Ono) has just enrolled into Seirin High School when he meets Tetsuya Kuroko (Kenshō Ono) of the school's basketball team. Kuroko happens to be the shadowy sixth member of the legendary "Generation of Miracles" basketball team. Together, Kagami and Kuroko aim to take their team to the inter-high school championship — against Kuroko's former teammates.
The anime's website also confirmed the rest of the main cast:
- Ryōhei Kimura as Ryōta Kise
- Daisuke Ono as Shintarō Midorima
- Chiwa Saitō as Riko Aida
- Yoshimasa Hosoya as Junpei Hyūga
- Kentarō Tone as Shun Izuki
- Takuya Eguchi as Shinji Koganei
The anime will premiere in April, and the 16th volume of the manga will bundle a drama CD on March 2. Shunsuke Tada (The Prince of Tennis, Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations) is directing the anime at Production I.G, and Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Baccano!) is in charge of the scripts. Yōko Kikuchi (Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations, Noir) is designing the characters.
