Manga-Based Wild 7 Police Action Film's TV Ad Posted

The Japanese film website Cinema Today began streaming a 16-second television commercial for Warner Brothers Japan's live-action film adaptation of Mikiya Mochizuki's police action manga Wild 7 on Monday. Directed by Umizaru's Eiichirō Hasumi, the live-action film will premiere in Japan on December 21.
In Mochizuki's original manga, a police bureaucrat forms a secret police team out of seven motorcycle-riding outlaws to judge and even execute criminals that the regular police cannot touch. Actor Eita (Nodame Cantabile, Azumi, Densha Otoko) plays Dairoku Hiba, the young leader of the Wild 7. Kippei Shiina (Sekai), Ryūḧei Maruyama (Pyro), Tsuyoshi Abe (Sox), Takashi Ukaji (Oyabun), Yūsuke Hirayama (Hebopie), and Minoru Matsumoto (BBQ) round out the team.
The Japanese rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel is performing the "Chase" theme song for Wild 7. The manga-based live-action film received its own manga adaptation in Shonengahosha's Young King magazine in September. Two trailers for Hasumi's Wild 7 began streaming in October and November.
Mochizuki's first Wild 7 manga serialized from 1969 to 1979 in Shonengahosha's Weekly Shonen King magazine. Mochizuki drew three manga sequels to the original series, and his story has also provided the basis for live-action television drama, television anime, and original video anime (OVA) adaptations.
