New Ai no Kusabi BDs to Come With Short Story by Author

1st limited BD of boys-love anime to also have pet ring, script, booklet, more

People who buy all of the limited first-edition Blu-ray Disc volumes for the new Ai no Kusabiboys-love video anime series will receive a booklet with an extra short story by original author Rieko Yoshihara. Each of the limited-edition volumes will come with an entry form, and buyers must submit all the forms to receive the short story booklet.

The limited first-edition of the first Blu-ray Disc will also include a pet ring on the leather string, the dialogue recording script, an exclusive booklet, an exclusive promotional video, and the credit-less versions of the opening and ending animation footage.

AIC's new adaptation of Yoshihara's Ai no Kusabi novels was announced in 2008, more than 20 years after the novels' first publication. However, a preview event was cancelled in March of last year "due to various circumstances," and no further updates were made until this week.

The official website now lists four volumes instead of the previously planned 13. The site also lists Pony Canyon as the production company, instead of the previously listed Ken Media. The main staff and cast otherwise remain mostly unchanged, with the addition of voice actor Showtaro Morikubo as the character Kirie.

Digital Manga Publishing announced its license for the original novels at Yaoi-Con in 2006, and it released the sixth volume in July of 2009.
