posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The website of Shueisha's Weekly Playboy magazine reported on Sunday that Puella Magi Madoka Magica head writer Gen Urobuchi is planning on completing an unspecified number of anime after Madoka Magica by the end of 2012. At least one of Urobuchi's works, his Fate/Zero novel prequel to Type-Moon's Fate/stay night visual novel software, is already slated for an anime adaptation this fall.
In addition to supervising the scripts for Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Urobuchi wrote the novel adaptation of Rei Hiroe's Black Lagoon action manga, developed the plots for the Phantom -Phantom of Inferno- game and the Phantom - The Animation spinoff, and supervised the scripts for the Blassreiter anime.

Update: In an interview that the 4gamer website conducted with Urobuchi and illustrator Chūō-Higashiguchi, Urobuchi revealed that the anime that he is working on for the end of 2012 is a new original anime (and not one based on a previous story). [Via Moe Ota-News Sokuhō]
