posted on by Egan Loo
The North American publisher Udon Entertainment announced on Thursday that it will publish Megaman Gigamix, Hitoshi Ariga's latest manga series based on CAPCOM's Mega Man (Rockman) videogame franchise. Ariga has been drawing Mega Man manga titles for over a decade, and Udon released his earlier Mega Man Megamix manga last year.
The Megaman Gigamix sequel ran for three volumes between 2009 and 2010 in Japan under the name Rockman Gigamix. Udon noted that this space adventure story features every Robot Master character from the first eight Mega Man games.
Udon will ship the first Megaman Gigamix volume on May 4, and the publisher is previewing pages from the first volume on its blog. The Mega Man franchise has spawned dozens of game releases as well as numerous manga, anime television series, original video animation, and movie projects.
Ariga also drew the spinoff manga to The Big O anime series, and Viz Media published all six volumes in North America. Viz Media published Ryo Takamisaki's 13-volume MegaMan NT Warrior manga series.
