Wandering Son by Aoi Hana's Shimura Listed in Amazon

posted on by Egan Loo
Takako Shimura created Hōrō Musuko manga about feminine boy, tomboy girl

The Amazon online retailer is listing the first book of Takako Shimura's Wandering Son as a December 22 release from Fantagraphics Books in the United States. Amazon's listings do not necessarily indicate definite release plans or dates. Shimura, the creator of the Aoi Hana manga and its Sweet Blue Flowers anime adaptation, launched a manga called Hōrō Musuko in Enterbrain's Comic Beam magazine in 2002.

The story of Hōrō Musuko (literally, "Wandering Son") centers around a feminine 5th-grade boy named Shūichi Nitori. On the first day at his new school, he is mistaken for his 6th-grade sister. He happens to sit next to Yoshino Takatsuki, a girl who wishes she was a boy. Each of them have secrets they cannot tell anyone.

The manga is still running in Comic Beam, and the ninth compiled book volume shipped last July.
