Iron Man, Wolverine Marvel Anime Teasers Streamed (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
Comic writer Warren Ellis has posted links to the teaser trailers for the Marvel Anime series of the Wolverine and Iron Man. Ellis emphasizes that both teasers, which premiered at Comic-Con International (CCI) last Friday, are test animation "intended to show off the style of the piece only. Nothing in here reflects the actual content, just the design and the aesthetic and the animation." He also says that both anime series are aimed at Southeast Asian market, as opposed to Japan as Marvel told its audience at CCI.
In particular, Ellis notes that the Wolverine Anime series is "a little…different," but will be loosely based on a Wolverine comic mini-series that was set in Japan by creators Chris Claremont and Frank Miller. According to Ellis, the Wolverine teaser was directed by Rintarō (X film, Metropolis, Yona Yona Penguin).
