School Rumble Z Manga Ends in Japan
posted on by Egan Loo
Jin Kobayashi has ended his School Rumble Z high school romantic comedy manga in the June issue of Kodansha's Magazine Special on Wednesday. Kobayashi drew a poster to commemorate the ending. He had just launched this manga spinoff of side stories in August, one month after ending the original School Rumble manga series in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine after six years. The first and only compiled volume of School Rumble Z will ship in Japan on June 17.
Del Rey will publish the 13th of 22 volumes of the original School Rumble manga in North America in September. Funimation released the two television series adaptations of School Rumble and the School Rumble: Extra Class video project. A third School Rumble series was bundled on DVDs with the last two volumes of the original School Rumble manga.
Kobayashi is still working on his Natsu no Arashi! manga. He started Natsu no Arashi! in Square Enix's Gangan Wing magazine in 2006 but moved it to the new Gangan Joker magazine last month after Gangan Wing ended publication in March. The anime adaptation of Natsu no Arashi! premiered in Japan and overseas last month.
