Remakes of Osamu Tezuka's Mighty Atom manga, anime about robot boy hero
Manga Entertainment is streaming the 1980-1981 Astro Boy (Mighty Atom) anime series on the YouTube video website, and the Crackle channel began streaming the 2003-2004 Astro Boy television anime series on the same site this past week. Both are remakes of the original 1963-1966 Astro Boy television anime, which in turn was an adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's original manga about a robot boy hero. The Variety entertainment news source reported last week that YouTube had recently partnered with Starz, the owner of Manga Entertainment.
IMAGI's computer-animated feature film will open in North America in October, while Dark Horse Comics has published the original manga in North America.
