Fist of the North Star Spinoff Manga to Feature Jagi
posted on by Egan Loo
2009's third issue of Shinchosha' Weekly Comic Bunch magazine has announced on Friday that artist Sin-Ichi Hiromoto will launch a Fist of the North Star manga side story called Jagi Gaiden: Gokuaku no Hana next Friday. The magazine calls Jagi, who is one of the main antagonists in Buronson and Tetsuo Hara's original post-apocalyptic fighting manga, the greatest "dark hero" in the franchise's 25-year-old history. In the advertisement, Jagi declares that he is tired of painless justice, so he will usher in the end of an era that has been mired in hypocrisy, and dye it scarlet red.
Hiromoto is arguably best known for drawing the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi manga and creating the Hells Angels dark comedy manga. The Madhouse anime studio just completed its film adaptation of Hells Angels this year, and Dark Horse published his Star Wars: Return of the Jedi manga in North America.
Kei Kusunoki (a.k.a. Diabolo and Sengoku Nights co-creator Mayumi Ohashi) will also launch her Koi Mono-gatare manga about "romance between adults" in the next Comic Bunch issue. Tokyopop published Diabolo, Sengoku Nights, and other works by Kusunoki except for Ogre Slayer, which Viz Media released.
