USA Today Booklist, November 3-8: Naruto 32 Jumps
posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
After placing on the USA Today newspaper's list of the top 150 bestselling books the previous week, the newest volume of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto (Viz Media) rose again. It opened in the #123 spot two week ago based on early sales, but for the week of November 3-9, it jumped up over 70 spots to the #51 position. Officially, it just starting shipping on November 4.
Currently, this means that it is more popular than such other recent bestsellers as the cookbook Skinny Bitch, Norman Philip's new biography of the Beatle John Lennon, and Alan Moore's The Watchmen graphic novel. Once again, it was the only manga that sold well enough to make it to the list. The last time any other manga title made the list was the week of September 8-14, when Naruto's previous volume was joined by Ken Akamatsu's Negima volume 19 (Del Rey) and Matsuri Hino's Vampire Knight volume 5 (Viz Media).
