Nodame's Tomoko Ninomiya Gives Birth to Baby Son

Tomoko Ninomiya, the creator of the popular Nodame Cantabile manga, has announced on her personal blog on November 3 that she gave birth to a baby son. She gave birth without incident on October 24, and she has already left the hospital to recuperate. Her son weighed 3,005 grams (about 6.62 pounds) at birth and is apparently named Kousuke, according to the photograph on Ninomiya's blog. Ninomiya cannot raise her right arm because an unknown pain in her shoulder and arm; as a result, she cannot carry her baby yet, but the rest of her body is fine. She is already joking about the baby gurgling milk and going to the bathroom.
Ninomiya took time off from her manga drawing in October, the last month of her pregnancy, to have her baby. The new Nodame Cantabile: Paris anime sequel premiered in Japan that same month, and Del Rey will publish the 15th of the 21 current volumes of the manga in North America this month.
