Gonzo to Stream Limited Animation of Hennako-chan Manga
posted on by Egan Loo
GDH, the parent company of the anime studio Gonzo, has announced that it will create and distribute a limited animated version of Fujio Akatsuka's Hennako-chan gag comedy manga online with English and Chinese subtitles on Google's YouTube service. The story follows the misadventures of a girl who messes with the people and living things around her with her supernatural (and sometimes destructive) powers. The project will digitize this manga and add motion, dialogue, and sound effects for a weekly series of six three-minute, limited animated shorts. The first episode will debut on April 25, and the subtitled version will be at the following link. The second run of the Hennako-chan manga (which is the run this project will adapt) was serialized in Shufu-to-Seikatsu Sha's Weekly Josei magazine from 1991 to 1994.
