Hawaiian Int'l Film Fest to Show Vexille, Always
posted on by Egan Loo
The Hawaiian International Film Festival will be showing Fumihiko Sori's Vexille (pictured at right), Takashi Yamazaki's Always: Sunset on Third Street-, Noboru Iguchi's Machine Girl, and Daihachi Yoshida's Funuke, Show Some Love You Losers! during its April 18-24 Spring Showcase on Oahu. Vexille explores Japan after a tech-driven regime imposes a new age of self-isolation. Yamazaki takes a more nostalgic look at post-war Japan in the manga-based ALWAYS. Media Blasters co-produced Machine Girl as a campy, over-the-top splatter film about a girl with a machine-gun arm. Funuke, Show Some Love You Losers! offers a tragicomic look at the family of a budding horror manga artist who has to deal with figurative skeletons in the closet.
