Viz Ships Wooden Display Case with 27 Naruto Volumes
posted on by Egan Loo
Viz Media has officially announced the release of the Naruto Shadow Box Limited Collector Set: a wooden display case filled with the first 27 volumes of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto ninja manga. Early sets have already been trickling into customers' hands since last week.
The last three volumes in the box complete the first major story arc of the titular character's ninja training and are available for the first time in this set. These three volumes will not have a general release until December 4. The storyline will jump ahead three years in Naruto's life when Viz Media resumes the manga's publication in Shonen Jump magazine's January 2008 issue (on sale December 4) and Volume 28's March release.
The case's limited 5,000-set run also includes a bonus volume with a short story "pilot" of Naruto's earliest appearance and a Volume 28 sneak peak, an exclusive double-sided poster, stickers of the graphic novel cover art, and an exclusive Naruto trading card. The box retails for US$189.95 at select major book retailers now and on Viz Media's online store later.
