Live-action adaptation of Ashihara Hinako manga comes to Japanese TV
Japanese TV network TBS has announced that a live-action drama based on the Suna-dokei (Hourglass) manga will debut on March 12th. The drama will air every weekday at 1PM in the half-hour time slot called "Love Theatre."
The original manga by Ashihara Hinako appeared in the manga magazine "Betsucomi", published by Shogakukan. The series produced 10 volumes of manga and won Shogakukan's "Best Shojo Manga Award" in 2005.
"Love Theatre" has been a part of the weekday afternoon lineup on TBS since 1969.
