Weekend Wrapup - Week in Anime [6/8 - 13/8]
posted on by Jon Hayward
Things picked up a little this week, but the best part was the interesting reports for day one and day two of Otakon over on Fort90, or should I say his extensive cosplay photos including what has to be a brilliant idea for cosplay (and if you don't get it, it's not FOR you). But here's the best news from the week.
- Bandai plans to release 1.5 meter tall Gundam model kits; they will be large, expensive and available in December.
- Speed Racer movie is waiting to be greenlit, but Vince Vaughn still plans to play Racer X in the Wachowski directed live action adaptation...
- The manga "Nodame Cantabile" is having a jdrama starting in October and a anime starting in January. Both will be screened on Fuji TV and if the manga is anything to go by, it will definitely be worth watching as it contains pure awesome.
- Time magazine has interviewed the creator of fruits basket, Natsuki Takaya and it's a interesting read.
Now for the humorous link of the week, did you ever wonder what would happen if Ash found a job in the real world?
