Millennium Actress Rankings

Millennium Actress brings in in $25 000 in first week, and garners mention in Wall Street Journal.
Friday's Wall Street Journal ran a short blurb about Millennium Actress on page 94. The blurb compares Millennium Actress to DreamWorks' recent box office failure Sinbad : "Millennium Actress " is literally worlds away from the $70 million pirate flick: It was made in Japan, its cost was small, the promotion minimal -- and the reviews generally rosy.
The blurb goes on to mention that the movie was acquired for $1 million, and that it is being presented in theatres subtitled only, as no dub was produced.
Over the weekend Millennium Actress, which is only being shown in 6 theatres, brought in $7000, adding to the roughly $18 000 that it made on its first weekend and the roughly $7 000 it made during the week.
DreamWorks is expecting positive reviews from the limited theatrical release to boost sales of the DVD, due out at the end of October.
