Tohru Fujisawa US Appearances

The Manga-ka / creator of Great Teacher Onizuka will be making a number of appearances in the US care of Tokyopop

TOKYOPOP is pround to annouce that Fujisawa-sensei, creator of the international megahit GTO will be coming to the U.S. next month to support the U.S. release of the GTO anime and manga. He will be making two siging appearances in Los Angeles, (Borders Northridge and Wherehouse Cerritos) as well as Comicon in San Diego.
Fujisawa is a writer and manga artist (manga-ka) who uses his work to approach very relevant social problems. Tohru Fujisawa uses his work to be funny and entertain, but to point out social problems in the schools and society. His work is not tame or for the light of heart, but it is very touching. If you can, please come and see this manga superstar.

Tohru Fujisawa is the creator of numerous manga (graphic novel) properties from Japan, but is most well known for the mega hit GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka, the story of 22 year old Eikichi Onizuka, Superhero, Rebel, and teacher at Holy Forest Academy, the last stop of a class full of bullies, sadists, and schemers out to destroy Onizuka. GTO manga has sold over 37 million copies worldwide, and was made into a mega-hit live action TV series that was the most highly rated entertainment show ever in Japan, as well as a long running anime series. GTO manga and anime on DVD are currently available from TOKYOPOP.
