One Piece volume sells over 2.5 million copies
The 24th volume of the popular Manga One Piece has broken the previous Manga sales record for an initial manga printing by selling 2,520,000 copies. The volume tied the previous record of 2.5 million, held jointly by volumes 21 through 23 of Slam Dunk. Only two weeks after the initial priting of 2,520,000 copies, publisher Shueisha decided to print another 20,000 copies.
The One Piece manga has been translated into several languages, but is not yet available in English in North America. It has also been made into the One Piece Anime.
