Academy of Motion Pictures planning tribute to Anime

Jerry Beck has announced on his website, Cartoon Research, that he is involved in the planning of an Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences tribute to anime.
According to Jerry, "I believe this event is the Academy's annual Mark Davis on Animation. The evening will include 35mm clips from some of the greatest anime films past and present - and a panel discussion. Panelists are still being finalized, but Katsuhiro Ōtomo (AKIRA) and Mark Dippe (director of the live action SPAWN) have confirmed their participation."
The tribute will take place Wednesday November 14th at at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in in Beverly Hills.
