According to Ross, the deal to produce a Battle of the Planets comic has been a long time coming, and he's glad to see that the property has landed at Top Cow. “The final deal took a little while because there were different people vying for it, but Top Cow probably has the hippest demographic within their reach at the moment, and I think that they could, realistically give it the kind of attention it deserves,” Ross said. “They'll be able to put it on the same level as they did with Tomb Raider, which they treat with the same respect say, as Dark Horse does with Star Wars. But along with Tomb Raider, Top Cow has plenty invested in their own properties, and they don't produce too much – that's something I respect about them greatly.”
Ross is working directly with Sandy Frank Enterprises, the American rights holders of Battle of the Planets, and is aiding the company is getting other rights for the property, such as videogames, picked up by other companies in order to create a larger Battle of the Planets presence in popular culture.
