Dynamic Forces is set to release a line of exclusive merchandise based on the Gatchaman series. The merchandise will include T-Shirts, lunchboxes, lithographs, trading cards.
The first Battle of the Planets lithograph by Alex Ross debuted at WizardWorld Chicago at the Rosemont Convention Center. A six-card Battle of the Planets preview set is due to ship in November, T-shirts will be available in December, and the premiere trading card series, featuring all-new artwork by Ross and many other artists will go on sale in March of 2002.
Based on the Newsrama article that this information stems from, it would seem that Dynamic Forces will be using the series American name "Battle of the Planets." Not surprising as the merchandise is for the American Market and Gatchaman aired on television in North America in the 1970's under the name "Battle of the Planets."
Rhino Entertainment has released two sixty minute volumes of Battle of the Planets in North America, thease are available on VHS and DVD but are dubbed only. The Gatchaman OAV series, produced in 1993, is distributed in North America by Urban Vision.
