M2K recalls 2nd pressing Bubblegum Crisis DVD's
posted on
Production was halted immediately when it was discovered that the third disc was being made from an early beta-test version of the disc. Affected discs were packaged in the new Clamshell case, and had malformed white text instead of the usual yellow. The Japanese audio track may also fail to play correctly in set-top players. The menu is also highlighted in reverse (i.e. everything but your selection is highlighted).
The other discs in the set are not affected.
Paul Bader, president and CEO of M2K, stated: "Both we and our contract manufacturer were horrified to discover this error. They are working with us as rapidly as possible to reissue the correct disc. Currently we believe that the correct version of Disc 3 will be replicated and in distribution by the end of February." Inquiries regarding the problem should be sent to [email protected] (these will be personally answered by Director of PR Mike Whybark).
To get a replacement, the following are directions posted by M2K:
