New High School Fleet x City of Yokosuka Collaboration Features Exclusive Merchandise
posted on by Amanda Whalen
High School Fleet (Haifuru) is getting a collaboration with the city of Yokosuka, Kanagawa, where the anime is set. From April 24 to December 9, fans who shop at any of 34 participating shops in the city will receive lottery tickets proportionate to the amount of money they spend. The lottery prizes will be original goods that will not be available anywhere else.
Participating stores in Yokosuka will be marked with life-size images of High School Fleet characters. Fans who ask for lottery tickets when checking out will receive lottery tickets for spending more than 1,000 yen (US$9) and supplementary lottery tickets for spending more than 200 yen (US$2). Five supplementary tickets will be equal to one lottery ticket. Lottery drawings will be held on June 4, July 15, and December 9.
More details can be found on the event website.
Yokosuka has previously drawn High School Fleet fans to the town with "stamp rally" scavenger hunts, exclusive character badges, and themed sweets. Local business owners have been experiencing a boom since the High School Fleet anime's release, with some saying their sales are three times higher than usual.
The High School Fleet anime aired in spring 2016 and was streamed by Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Daisuki. It is licensed by Aniplex of America. A two-part OVA will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on May 24. The first of the two parts aired on March 31.
